ABOUT US

1969 ABLE Lifting Gear (Midlands) ltd, operating from Lyde Green, Halesowen ABLE Lifting was initially set up to service local industry by way of: Hire Service, Repair and Sales of all types of lifting gear.

 

1971 Due to the Black Country being a strong hold within the steel industry, word of mouth and reputation was growing. Companies within the steel industry were requesting there knowledge experience and support. South Wales was a Particular area, thus creating an opening of ABLE Lifting (Swansea) Ltd. Again ABLE would assist in the local area.

1972 In order to keep up with the demand for lifting tackle, a new company needed to be set up, operating from offices in Telford, thus creating the name Telford Trading Company. TTC was to source and supply quality products from around Europe, then be distributed through
ABLE’s outlets.

1973 TTC obtain Sole and Exclusive rights for distribution of Brano lifting products, throughout the United Kingdom & Ireland. (Brano products, had already been producing products for over 50 years. For a period of this time, Brano had been jointly owned by YALE manufacturing in Germany and still to this day produce and sell goods to Tractel in France).

1974 Operating from premises on the Pembrokeshire Docks, electronics Sonoma Ltd opens. Sonoma was to manufacture electronic weighing devices such as load and compression cells. Also to be distributed through TTC lifting.

1976 TTC gains a complete network of distributors around the UK and Ireland.
TTC starts first exports of Brano products.
TTC officially register company as TTC (lifting gear) Ltd.

1979 Due to international expertise. TTC negotiate & Receive sole exclusive rights to import quality mild steel chains. To be sold directly to chain manufactures in the UK. As not to confuse with the lifting gear trade, all sales to go through company (CTC).

1986 Sonoma Ltd becomes incorporated within the TTC group.

1996 Due to steady decline within mining industry, chain sales were on decline, CTC becomes incorporated within TTC group.

1999 TTC open negotiations over sole exclusive rights for UK with major, Lifting and materials handling manufacturer in far east.

2001 TTC & Hu-Lift Corporation sign exclusive UK agreements for joint partnership to distribute all lifting products. All products sold under the TTC brand.

2005/06 TTC receive exclusive rights and launch new product Electric chain hoist.

2007 Launch of theTTC Website
